“I find the best way to love someone is not to change them, but instead, help them reveal the greatest version of themselves.”
A Little about Me
I was inspired to become a counselor after walking out my own healing journey with a trusted and caring counselor. Since then, my desire to help others make sense of their problems and develop healthier ways of coping has been my guiding passion.
My career path first began in education, where I taught elementary students for more than 20 years before earning my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. I am trained in Experiential Story Work and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
In my work with clients, I believe we first have to look within ourselves and connect to the parts of us — our thoughts, feelings, and memories — that surface during times of uncertainty and distress. As we build awareness of these inner experiences, we can begin to understand the beliefs that shape them and the ways they influence how we see ourselves and our relationships. From this place of awareness, new possibilities for compassion, healing, and growth can begin to unfold.
I enjoy working with men and women of all ages, helping them take a deeper look into the internal beliefs that fuel their unhelpful thoughts and keep them locked in unhealthy patterns. It is my honor to help clients regain self-trust, so they can feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves and others.
Additionally, my faith as a Christian is an important part of my personal life. I’m comfortable integrating a Christian perspective into the counseling process if that is something a client desires.
My areas of focus include:
Relationship Issues | Family of Origin Wounds | Grief | Codependency | Boundary Work | Stress/Anxiety Management | Self Esteem Issues | Work/Life Balance | Spirituality Issues | Life Transitions | Personal Growth
